Farmhouse Fall Tablescape Idea

Autumn is in the air and it's time to bring out the pumpkins! We want to show the simple steps to putting together a tablescape the next time you are the host!

We started with our "Base" ~ Which is drop cloth, found in the painting section at any hardware store (which is our favorite material to work with) and this darling Table Runner, which is grey imitated linen. It is a great "Base" as we like to say. Before you start a project you need to have your "1st layer" or "1st Step" and then you can go from there building upon it and adding the details on top. So we have our drop cloth that we will lay on the table and rip the edges so they fray cute and also shape it to your table measurement.

With the extra material you've ripped, don't throw it away! Make a cute bow to pin on the ends of the table over your darling Table Runner. The Table Runner is available, click on the link below.

We added orange halloween lights down the center as well as fresh cut greenery. We are always looking for a good limb from a tree or bush for all of our decor. We have asked neighbors and complete strangers. One time Shalana wanted to follow a truck full of tree limbs to the green dump! We hate to see them go to waste! We now know what limbs dry cute and not so cute...
Ok Step 1, Dropcloth as a tablecloth with the Grey Runner down the middle. Step 2, is your lights with your greenery to cover the cord of your lights. To get rid of the excess cord length on the table, Shalana, gathered the excess together and tied a striped ribbon around. Just a random idea that turned out so cute.

Step 3, Add your dish ware.  We selected a tin charger, white dinner plate, the pheasant salad plate is a treasure from Pottery Barn (From Gentry's collection), A white beveled soup bowl and this darling velvet pumpkin to top that all off.  As you see below we used it in the table decor but it also would be a great gift for your guest to take home. (We added the name tag with some greenery)

Step 4, Add a center piece and build out on the runner. We started with this concrete jar and added fresh pumpkins with the velvet pumpkin as well, candle sticks and bit more greenery. Sometimes simple is best.

Look at what a difference adding fresh greenery to the base of that white pumpkin. This is why you should have trees, plants and bushes in your yard. These leaves are from Gentry's yard (freshly planted Buckthorn in the spring)

This is a fresh picked pumpkin from Cierra's Pumpkin Patch. Poke holes in it with a screw driver, shove some bridal wreath branches down deep and you've created a floral piece at the end of the table! Another Drop Cloth bow ~ Remember never throw a remnant away! ~
Once again, the Cat finds herself in the photo! Hope you'll still come to dinner...
Step 5, Seat your guest and serve dinner! Autumn brings the cravings of soups and breads in all variety. Soup recipe "Witche's Brew" will be posted tomorrow.

  1. Beautiful night!! I can’t get enough of velvet pumpkins. Even Target dollar spot ones are darling! Love drop cloth and all of the simplisybeauty. I tiered 3 pumpkins on my urns, but was thinking I need some greenery underneath.
